Panzer IB Finished

Hi everyone, I’m calling this one finished.

This is the Dragon kit #6186 of the Panzer IB. It went together very well without any major problems, however I did change out the rear idler’s for a correct set, as the kit has only the early ones included.

I painted this one with AK Interactives Panzer Gray Modulation set, which is acrylic water base. It has 6 colors in order to modulate your Panzer gray. ( I think I still need practice for this technique.)

I also used AK’s Filter for Panzer Gray, their Track wash, and their Metal pigment for tracks, along with streaking grime for Panzer Gray.

a pretty good build for me. The tracks were a pain as I’ve never built German Indie tracks before, and these were pretty small.

Nice looking build congratz

Nice looking build. I have the same kit in the stash and i think i am going to use the same markings. Nice to hear it went together well. I didn’t know that about the rear idlers. Where did you get the replacements from.

thanks,

Bish, LionMarc makes a resin set for it, Set No. AW-90001 but its a bit hard to find, I have it on my watch list. The ones I used for this kit came out of the Panzerjager I Dragon kit #6258, which had the correct Idlers.

Thanks, i will see if i can find them. that Pzjag kit is on my to buy list, so that might be another option.

No complaints here! A nice finish–good variation in color, and nice weathering too!

Nice little build, especially something so tiny. I like the tracks. I also dig those red numbers as it offers a contrast to the grey. DId you paint the rear tail-ight on the left hand side? Not sure of the correct colors.

Nice build and that muffler guard is absolutely awesome!

Good stuff, nice work on all of your weathering techniques

Very, very nice.

Especially like the grime, nice balance, not too much.

Great job! I too love the rust effect you achieved on the muffler guard. Very cool. The streaking and grimy bits look pretty sweet too. I really like the markings/turret numbers - those part of the Ib kit? I have a few Pz I chassis kits in my stash… maybe this year. [;)]

Congrats on the completion Delbert, always nice to see one of these little guys get their due!

Good work Delbert…Well done…

thanks guys

Hasenpfeffer (aka: Dave), the kit comes with 5 different marking options, I chose the 7.PzDiv, France 1940, mainly because I liked the large red numbers and thought it would give some nice contrast the other markings are more subdued.

the muffler guard was painted a base coat of gray, then covered with a couple of layers of AK’s track rust pigment rubbed in and then 2 other rusty colors of pigments applied randomly with a brush.
