PANZER 3 WEATHERING

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO WEATHER A DESERT PANZER 3?

My desert tanks get a nice airbrush mist of Tamiya Buff, heavier on the tracks and lower hull

Some paint chipping would also be appropriate for a vehicle in the desert. I use a fine pointed paint brush and Vallejo german gray and paint the chips in areas that would see a lot of crew activity.

strange ? why tamiya recommend xf-60 dark yellow for desert africa corps ?

Tamiya recommended Dark Yellow for the base coat, but Buff is used to simulate dust. I don’t think the Dark yellow was very accurate for Africa, anyone have any good suggestions? I’m thinking of starting a Desert build myself soon.

I airbrush Model Masters’ Dust paint for the desired effect. Hope these pics help.

I dry brush with model master Armor Sand, a little heavier than usual, then I use light colored artist chalks to finish the job.

Sorry- I need to clarify…I use the Buff over my paint job, to simulate Dust, not as the base color.
