Here she is boys and girls, my very first tank build!! I hope you enjoy it. This is my very first complex camo scheme…and I did it free hand!! This is a Tamiya 1/35 Panther early version with eduards Zimmerit PE that was included in the kit. This is an OOB, and is going to be entered as such tomm at Tamiyacon. I hope you guys like her as much as I do!!
Heath, great looking build and a truly amazing job on that cammo!! I got a Dragon Jagdtiger because the box pic had that cammo scheme on it. I really like those colors together on a tank, and you more than did it justice there. Great job and good luck at the Tamiyacon!
great job
Excellent job on the tank and camo, Heath. Best wishes at Tamiyacon.
Outstanding job. Very nice camo. Good luck.

kik36,
Good looking job. I, too, think you’ve done an excellrnt job on the camouflage. This is just a personal preference, but the finish appears a bit glossy.
You say this is your first tank, What do you usually model? You’ve made the transition in grand style…
Best of luck at Tamiyacon.

Great job on your first tank. My first tank looked like it got nuked. [Not by choice][:D] Good luck @ Tamiyacon.
Nice build. You seem to have put a good amount of effort into weathering the wheels.I’d suggest weathering the rest of the Panther just a bit to balance it out.
very nice piece! very clean build kik. my only suggestion would be to spray a light caot of dull coat on it, to bring down that shine a little. otherwise, great job man!![tup][tup]
looks great. very impressive for your first armor build. the weathering on the wheels is fantastic. cant wait to see pics from your next project.
very nice tank! Have fun at Tamiyacon!
Hey, you’ve popped your heavily-armored cherry! [:p] Congrats on a good first build-up.
I am impressed by your paint job. Is that PE zimmerit hard to work with? I used resin on mine and it was kind of a chore.
[:D] very nice work,well done.[:D]
First armor build? Amazing. Your camo looks as though you’ve been doing it for some time. Great looking Panther. Good luck at Tamiyacon.
Thanks for the support guys!!! I know it looks glossy, but I promise you it is my camera flash! LOL For some reason I can 't get the thing to take nice “flat” pics. I got a lot of ideas today at Tamiyacon on how to weather it a bit differently next time. They had some 1:1 armor there, and it was amazing what kind of textures and colors are on the real thing. Plus I saw this tank in the junior’s category that floored me. They did a fantastic job!!
Larry the PE zimmerit was actually very easy to work with. The corners pretty much matched up dead-on, and it wasn’t hard to position at all. The hardest part was filling in the gaps on the zimmerit covering the forward gun. Because of the shape, it leaves unavoidable gaps. I kind of blew that one, but I bet you could do it with no problems.
I appreciate all of your comments, and will be continuing my armor career!! lol I normally model aircraft, and cars, and will continue to do so. I enjoy the different contrasts of doing different genres! Thanks again!
Heath, great job on that Panther.Best wishes on winning something with it.Digger
