Panther G Smart kit completed (pics)

Yann, you might want to check the other thread going about which Jagdpanther. I have the Tamiya kit and you just can’t go wrong with them. Dragon offers more value at a cheaper price. I got mine on ebay though.

i have always liked the panther tanks so i think you did a good job i am working on 2 1/72 scale panthers for a group build but i haven,t done a 1/35 yet. would of hated to run up against one if i was in a sherman [tup]

Another nice build Yann,excellent work.[:)]

Looks amazing Yann! Another great build!

Beautiful work. I really love the subtle textures and colourations, particularily on the rear hull deck, and around the engine. Fantastic.

Looks really amazing! I also have this model in the wings, waiting for life to happen. Just a couple of questions:

  1. Did you use the Idler wheel or the toe guide by the drive sprocket?

  2. How painful were the indy links?, normally I cheat and buy the A/M metal links, but now I have no cash, no choice.

Again though awesome

Thanks for the comments

  1. I used the Idler wheels cause that’s what is shown in the painting and markings section of the instructions.

  2. Magic tracks goes together pretty easily. Just smear some liquid cement on the tip of the link and glue it to the next one. They snaps together. Prior to fully cure, shape portions of track around the sprocket and idler wheels and let cure. I made several sub assemblies of the track: the top portion, the bottom portion, the semi-circular portions on the idler wheel and the drive sprocket, and the two straight portions between the bottom portion and the idler and drive sprocket. I painted them and then I installed them on the tank using super glue on the joints.

That’s a really impressive tank… great work on the weathering and camo.

Sweet build Yann!!!

Top notch all around.

For not liking the subject, your build came off first rate.[tup][tup] I’ll look forward to seeing what you do when the subject actually interests you[:D] The funny thing that I notice with me, is that oftentimes I’ll pick up a kit for something that I really couldn’t care less about, with the idea of slapping it together OOB over a weekend, but inevitably, as I built the kit it will grow on me, until my planned OOB has become a major effort.

Very nice build Yann.

One question-how did you get the ‘texture’ that looks like paint ‘bubbling up’ or getting ready to flake off.

Thanks

I don’t know what you’re refering to but I did a lot of drybrushing on that thank, simply.

Awesome job Yann - when i enlarged the pics i told my wife to get a bazooka- the Germans are coming!

This should be on the front page here.[tup] I loved you description on how you painted & weathered it. It is very similar in description to the way I do my paintwork in Photoshop when I paint and weather my 3d models using the airbrush tool.

[^] Nice job. I have 6 panthers but that 1 looks good may have to pick it up

It looks to be a real fine build to me, Yann! [tup]

I don’t like Panther’s, so you’ll never see me buildin’ one! [|)]

Every so often someone posts a pic that really stands out, and this is definintely one of them.
It’s a pleasure to look at, well done Yann.
