hi guys[:)]
i have a tamiya early panther g and have got a resin zimm’d turrest and body for it (sorry moses[:p]), but i don’t have the right decals[V]…
i am looking for the zimm’d version from tamiya’s TA35170 or TA35076…doa anyone have these spare that i might trade or buy please?[:)]
i would also be grateful if someone could tell me the unit and time/place they are from…
alternatively, if anyone knows an online site wher i can get these decals (or those like them)…i tried archers. but they don’t give any info about the actual tank and so are not much use.

Hey Mayhew…I won’t get on ya for not doin the zim yourself bud. Actually zimming Panthers is a bit harder to do. As for teh decals…I suggest using either stencils or dry transfers for the markings. I know you said you have tried Archer transfers…but maybe this will help better Archer ( http://www.archertransfers.com/ ) are great for zimmerit. I personally never use water slide decals, except if I can not find an alternative to teh marking. You will find that applying water slide decals to a zim very tediuos and stressful in my opinion. Archer offers a nice 8 diferent sets of Panther Dry Transfer Markings…and one set that has them all. I highly recommend them. Here are some direct links to these markings with the marking below the link…all are perfect for zim…

hey moses[:)]
thanks very much for the info![:D]
do i take it that all these panthers were zimm’d ones?
not having bought any archers’ dry transfers before, does each set give a picture/drawing of the tank, giving camo details etc, as well as placement info for the transfers, similar to say a tamiya instruction booklet?
if they do then i’m all over archers like a rash!![}:)][:D]
thanks once again…you guys make it fun checking my email!![:p]
regards,
nick
Hey Mayhew, well firstly not all the markings were taken from Panthers with zim. But with a a few references and some preparartion before you start the kit, you should be able to pick out which of the dry transfers you will need for the project. Remember, most markings on the zim were hand painted and rarely were done with stencils.
Like I said in my other post, I never use water slide decals and they do not work well on zimmed surfaces. Dry Transfers snuggle easily in the grooves on the zim with a little solveset. Unlike water slide decals, which seem to never settle properly.
So give it a shot, research the Panther that you want to build, then see what Dry Transfer suits the kit the best. If you need any help, you can email me at my email address below.
Cheers
