Hi I’m relatively new to modeling and seem to be struggling to get tamiya panel liner, I’m in the west Midlands and non of my model shops stock it and there seems to be a problem with export to the UK apparently, is there another product I can use on acrylic paints to get simular effect such as accents. Thanks
You can mix up an enamel wash,I usually use burnt umber, mix it with thinner,90-10 %use an acrylic gloss over coat, this will allow your mix to flow down the panel lines and in to crevices. Then you cover it with a flat coat. An enamel, oil,or lacquer wash will not harm a well cured acrylic coat, but don’t use it on enamel basecoat. A company called Flory makesva nice panel wash,as do Mig,AK,and Vallejo, but you can mix your own.
Thank you for your reply, I will definitely try it, and look Into that supplier
Tojo is right on! Make your own with odorless thinners and oil paint or enamel paint. Far more cost effective!
If you’re in the U.K., you ought to be able to get Flory’s wash. That stuff is easy to use and made over there.
Thanks for your reply
