Panair do Brasil Connie 049

Panair do Brasil was the only Brazilian airline to use the Lockheed Constellation 049. Panair begun to receive 16 of these beautiful aircrafts in 1946 and used them for international flights, the longest of them being the Rio de Janeiro -Istambul line. Later they were used in domestic services being operated by Panair until 1965.

This model below was a conversion I made from the old Revell Constellation Super G, 1/122 (?)scale. The original fuselage was shortened, new nose, passenger windows, engine cowlings and propellers had to be made.

What a beautiful model! I think the Connie has the most elegant and graceful lines of any aircraft. They were a beautiful sight to see in the air.
