What paints or schemes do you guys use to paint WWII photo recon aircraft? Some references say PRU Blue FS35189. Some say synthetic Haze scheme. Any good ideas?
The British painted there PR birds PRU Blue overall. Some British A/C that where armed, like the Mustang, where painted the same as the rest of the squadron they belonged to. The USAAF also used PRU Blue, but also used the Haze scheme as well. Consult references for individual aircraft.
I have a PR Mosquito that I’m going to be doing in PRU Blue.
After posting this question I found this website for the 34th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron. They give a great explanation of the Haze scheme.
