Hello everybody ! [:)]
I’ll start building a 1/32 scale F-15E, and I can’t decide which paint I should use for airbrushing the gunship grey (FS36118) :
Humbrol 125 (enamel)
Tamiya XF-24.
No other brand is available. And I don’t want to use spray cans.
What would you do ?
Thank you for your help.

Gunship Grey should be available by Testors in thier model paint lines. I am almost sure of it.
Testors Model Master paint line has Gunship grey in their available colors.
The color of th estrike is definitely Gunship Gray. I just finished 2 1/72 scale and used Testors MM #1723, and they turnedout fine. Good luck, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Hy thank you for your help, BUT I said I couldn’t get other brands of paint than Tamiya or Humbrol.
No Testors are available here, they’re not well known.
thank you.
Thomas.
I would go with whatever Tamiya recomends then. Good luck. I am sorry I misunderstood your question. I find it hard to swallow that Testors is unavailable. What about mail order. Good luck.
Can you order from Squadron?
Here’s their order page for Testors Model Master Gunship gray:

Hy.
Thank you for your help.
I know it can be surprising, but Testors paints are not available where I live, (an average size town lost in France) ! Only humbrols and Tamiya.
thank you for your support.
Thomas.
Thomas, one important question here: what paint are you using for any other colors on the aircraft. You can make things easy for yourself by sticking to either enamels or acrylics. Bonne chance!
Thomas,
I don’t know if it’s right, but my paint chart gives Tamiya XF-50 (not xf-24) and Humbrol 125 as the closest matches for FS36118.
Al
Sorry for the mis-read. There are several online stores where you can order it. hobbylinc.com and hometownhobbies.com are two where you may find it. I live in a small town where model paint is hard to find, even at Wal-mart, so I have to drive about 35 miles or order it. Good luck!
Just an idea, but twobobs has an excellent selection of Iraqi Freedom nose art for strike eagles! They come in two parts and have a white backing so that they show up clearly.
The Tamiya equivalent of Gunship Grey is XF-24.
Hope this helps.
