painting the catalinas glass

I am starting in the group build and i am using a catalina.
My brother is helping me paint the glass, but I think there is a better way can anyone help me or give me tips. You can also ask T-34 he is my brother.

You can mask it and then spray it when you paint the rest of the kit.
Use Tamiya Masking Tape, Liquid Mask, or you can buy precut vinyl masks sets for most kits.
