painting problems

I have an air compressor hooked up to my badger 350. I run the comressor with high and low pressure but the paint will not come out! This airbrush is NOT gravity fed. It has the bottle of paint on the bottom that is suctioned up (or at least is supposed to be). I have been able to paint with the air can but want to use the compressor. What steps need to be taken to have the compressor push the paint up the feed tube and through my airbrush? Thanks much to all those who can help.

Any of these may help.

  • Clean it again
  • Make sure all seals are new
  • See if your needle bearing has fallen out. This is a white tube that goes in the forward section of the body. If it’s gone, send it back to badger.
  • Thin the paint some more
  • Turn the psi up
  • Clear out the siphon thatpicks up the paint.

I agree. The absolute first thing I would do (I use a siphon-feed AB) is try spraying just plain thinner or water. If that sprays, then your paint is not thin enough - and/or your psi needs to be increased a little.

Thanks you everyone, I am pleased to report (that like most things) it was operator error. I must have done a lousy job cleaning my airbrush after its last use. The air can was what I used before and my last experience is what led me to purchase the air compressor. I did a thourough cleaning and had no problems afterward. Thanks again.

I’m glad that worked for you.
