I am going to be working out of town for much of the next 3 months. Since being out of town can be boring, I plan to build some 1/72 and 1/48 scale armour. Building is no big deal its fairly easy to pack a compact set of tools to build with. Painting however is another issue. I would have liked to airbrush, but lugging a compressor onto flights and then using in a hotel suite is probably not really doable. My brush painting is not great, especially with acrylics. Has anyone got any ideas. Compressed air cyclinders would work, but I suspect I cant take them on a plane, plus they run out pretty fast??
I would just save the big painting for trips home. I guess rattlecans would work though (ie spraypaint). If you’ve never used spraypaint before on models lots of bad things can happen. Just follow the 1-2 foot rule. Keep the can as far away from the model as possible when spraying and paint at least 1 light mist coat first. Not as good as an AB, you can’t do panel shading, you have to be real careful with masking canopies, but it will work. Good luck.
