Hey Guys,
I am set to paint a DML Hetzer in the German three color camo. Should I mask off the sections or should I paint with my ultra fine airbrush without masking. If you suggest I should mask what should I use? Thank you!

I have seen in a couple of articles for the ambush pattern is to take a piece of paper and punch our a pattern of holes in it. This is laid over the area to be painted. Others just hand paint the spots.

using a brush is tedious, but if you do it right there’s no need to mask.
Sorry, are you doing an ambush or hard-edged? If it’s hard-edged I’d use Silly Putty. If it’s an ambush, I’d do small dots with a fine brush. Not all that hard and more forgiving and less uniform.
…the early models seemed to have had a soft-edge scheme (three tone w/ dark yellow as base) and the later a hard edge factory applied scheme (more even proportion of three colors)…it is well-documented in most Hetzer ref—In fact, the schemes for Hetzers, in my opinion, seem to be some of the most well documented of any German AFV…
Thanks guys. I have a pretty limited budget for reference material so I rely on the forum experts for info. I was looking for the paint sceme for an earlier Hetzer.
I am looking to reproduce the execellent model by Bernhard Lustig .
