Hi guys, I need some painting help on my F-16C.
First, what colors do you paint the Aces II seat?
Second, how do you tint the canopy that yellow or gold color?? I was thinking future, but what paint do I mix in??

For the canopy you could try mixing Future with Tamiya Clear Yellow (X-24), and perhaps a dash of Clear Orange (X-26)

Well first off the ACES II seats are the same color as the cockpit Dk Gull Gray FS 36231 (I use Neutral Gray with a Ft Black wash) but some units paint theirs Black or other colors, it depends on what plane your doing and which unit, also the cushions are O.D. FS 34087 but other units have changed the cushions and most are now Black, the belts are either a Lt Green or White (depends again on what plane & unit your doing). From the 3 F-16 units I was in (474 TFW-430 TFS at Nellis AFB NV, 50 TFW-10 TFS at Hahn AB W. Germany, 140 FW-120 FS at Buckley ANGB CO) all of which where Gray seats, with O.D. cushions (in late 1990’s the 140 FW changed the cushions to Black) also the A-10 unit I was in 442 FW-303 FS at Whiteman AFB MO they too where Gray with Black Cushions.
Second off the canopy color, I followed Swanny’s advice at his website on doing the canopy color change put a few drops of Yellow food die into a cup of Future Floor wax and dip the canopy into it let it dry (repeat if the tint is not the desired tint).
