Has anyone tried this? Can you paint onto decal film and have any expectation that it will bend and shape like a normal decal??
Specifically, I’m thinking of use plain old spray paint onto some film, and then cutting pin-stripes from the decal sheet? Another thought would be to spray white paint overtop of decal paper, then print decals onto the white paint so they are less translucent when applied to the model.
Does anyone have experience with the paint ‘cracking’ or reacting to decal solvents???
I haven’t tried it. You might want to coat the paint with Super Scale liquid decal film. I have used that to keep decals that have cracked for whatever reason from cracking further.
I am thinking of doing something similar…I have a decal of a checkerboard to go around the nose of a Mustang that’s blue and white…it needs to be black and blue. So do I just paint a Blue band and add the black by hand…or cut up a decal…or…well-- you get the idea.
Morning! (It’s Europe here!)
I have another question: since all the decals cannot be purchased, is there a shop where a modeller can buy a sheet of simply coloured decal to cut out then shapes he needs and then compose them into a unique piece?
