Please note that the header to this forum recommends that questions on painting and airbrushing can and should go to the painting and airbrushing forum. The reason for this is that there are some real good, experienced painters there who do not hang out on this forum, so you are likely to get more advise in that forum. Nothing really wrong with posting it here- that is not the point, but you may get a fuller and better answer elsewhere.
In general, all users should familiarize themselves with what forums are available, and if there is a forum more specific than just general modeling discussion, that may be a better place for the discussion.
There are some great discussions in the section labeled tool, techniques, and reference materials, but the traffic is pretty low, due to that area being down near the bottom of the list of forums, and many folks do not even know it is there
Easy Don. [8-)] Not every new members is going to catch that suggestion. I have no problem of new members asking painting related questions here - even if they don’t realize there is a thread specifically for that.
I am not trying to criticize, I am trying to encourage people to use all the features of the FSM forums. Since so many people, after they find a particular forum they like, never bother to explore the site further. My purpose only is to encourage people to explore the forums and find these other gems. I will answer posts like that in this area, but may, if a simple answer is not enough, add encouragement to try those other forums.
I understood your point, Don, and it was well made. At my FSM start I didn’t realize there were so many sections, only looked at airplanes, ships, cars, etc.
Until I explored for a while and found the other sections, I wasn’t getting the benefit of the other information and help that is available.
Members like you that do provide a little direction and hints, are important to the forums and other members. And there was no mistaking your good intentions, how anyone would I just don’t get.
