Paint thinning

Does Tamiya Acrylic Paint need thinning for use in a airbrush. I bought a bottle of Yellow Green and its the first bottle i bought I have testors paints that are already thinned for airbrush painting.

yes, they need to be thinned for airbrush use.

Even Testors paints (acrylics and enamels) need to be thinned.

Yes, I use about 30-40% thinner to 60-70% paint with the regulator set 10-15 psi.

You can thin Tamiya either with their own thinner or with lacquer thinner. It’s an acrylic-lacquer hybrid paint. Some people thin it with isoprpyl alcohol, but that gives it a grainy texture, in my opinion. Lacquer thinner is best for the gloss colors.
