While painting the fuselage insignia on a Spitfire I got a little paint ridge along the mask line between the blue and yellow. I’m thinking the best way to remove this is wait for it to dry and sand it out. Anyone have experience doing this? It probably isn’t a difficult process but I would hate to ruin hours and hours of work by not doing this correctly. Wet sand? Dry? Maybe micromesh fine grit?
Thanks.
Wait for it to dry then carefully sand it out.
The best way to avoid this problem is to spray AWAY from the masking tape and remove masking tape after spraying if possible.
Right on Space Ranger. I always remove mask after spraying. Your right about spraying away from the mask. The challenge here is the roundel has a very thin yellow outside band. There is a mask outside this yellow band. There is a mask for the immediate inside blue mask. This leaves a couple mm to spray the yellow. I had to slowly build-up yellow thin paint for opacity. I thought about first laying down white or light grey but I was worried about a white border showing.
Anyway, thanks for the response.

Let it cure for several days then carefully sand. Always spray thin light coats away from the tape line. Depending on the color like yellows, spray tan first and white under red to cut down the amount of paint.
