Yes, its fine to paint acrylics over enamels. That should be the order if your using different types of paints. I believe its the other way round when you can get problems.
I take it your doing an NMF finish, what are you using for that.
however, it can help to clear coat at the masking line only,before you paint the next color
it is a method of avoiding bleed thru of the new color,it is the goal of the people that use tape like Frog tape, the weeping seal is the same as painting clear at the edge before painting the color
Thanks everyone for your help. I think glossing at just the masking line would be the best of both worlds. I’m just getting back into the hobby so trying to bring back the muscle memory.
Rather than clear coat, a better way to seal masking tape edges is to put a light coat of the color you are masking over along the edges of the tape. If it does bleed through it will not show. Clear coat may change the luster of any bleed-under, even if not the color.
