What color is it? Oftentimes, manufactuerers refer you to paint colors you have to mix yourself, even though they are called out with a label…
Also check the IPMS Stockholm website, they have a ton of Colour conversion charts for many makers.
Not sure about Academy as they have in the past reissued a lot of different makers kits.
Okai, to rephrase the question, has anyone built an A6M Zero, and what colors did you use? Since the instructions tell me to mix it myself, which I’m not that comfortable with.
Which version of the A6M? Which scheme / theatre / markings are you wanting to paint it in? Also what brand of paints are you wanting to use? These questions would help to know what paints to direct you to use.
The version is A6M5 Type 52C in green. the instructions do not say what theatre.
Well then, if you use Model Master paints, it is easy. They make a line of Japanese colors - Pick up IJN Green for the top, and IJN Grey for the bottom. They also make the yellow for the wing leading edges. The accuracy of these paints / colors comes into question sometimes, but they are a decent place to start with.
As stated above IJN Green over IJN Gray. Red brown spinner and propeller blades, and yellow wing leading edges. Black cowling. What paint brands do you have available?
