Paint Colors

Can anyone assist me in determining the colors to use for early WWII U.S. destroyers, specifically the U.S.S. Ward, which I am building for the Pearl Harbor group build? I normally use Model Master enamels. Thanks in advance.

Without my references here, I will hazard an educated guess and say either Ms 11 using 5-S Sea Blue, or, more likely, Ms 21 using 5-N Navy Blue.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. It would be one color for the entire ship(deck and bulkheads the same)? And do you have FS numbers by chance? Thanks

Actually, at the time of the attack, WARD was not among the destroyers listed as being experimentally painted up in any of the blues. I believe she was still in Measure 1, 5-D Dark Gray with the tops of her funnels and topmasts painted in the 1941 version of 5-L Light Gray.

We have these colors accurately matched and available in our Colourcoats enamels:

US 03, 5-L Light Gray;
US 04, 5-D Dark Gray.

We have no minimum order on paints, and we ship worldwide.
