Paint booth water filter

Greetings
I am building a paint booth and am not able to route the exhaust outside. I have read of a “water filter” system being built of a 5 gallon bucket, rocks(?) and water…
Does anyone have any insite on this???
Any assistance is appreciated.

never heard of that, and I dont think it would work because particles would still get out through the water via the air bubbles coming up…your best bet is if you are in a confined space, try and make a filtration system from air filters and a fan to force it through there…or even try a air filter (like the one from Sharper Image). May be the best bet…good lluck

There was a side column in a recent issue of FSM about this type of filter. I’ll have to go back and see if I can find it. Anyone else know which issue it was?

seems like it had carbon as a filtering agent as well

In the book from Kalmbach, I believe it is called Tips and Techniques, it has a suggestion that a filter can be made by filling a gallon jug partly filled with water and fitted with a straw. You put the spray nozzle into the end of the straw spray. The fumes then go into the water where they are diluted and no fumes. I have not tried this but someone must have for it to be published.
