Simultaneous build to try and work through the ridiculous back log of models I’ve accumulated of the past couple of years.
This is building it as is, straight from the box, nothing custom.

Initial exterior base color (tamiya gun metal), will then add a purple layer on top of this.

This is also looking quite nice. I had not heard of Pagani until i played those Gran Turismo games on playstation. They became one of my favorite cars, that and the TVR Tuscan.

Looking very nice. I think the interior color looks good. I always struggle with interior colors, especially when it comes to leather.
What do you consider a ridiculous back log?
Asking for a friend… I’ve seen some stashes that would rival a retail store. 
What is the pearlescent paints you use? I like the blue on the engine block.
Sigh I’m stumped by the damn model!!!
The two red pieces apparently just float in thin air! And the left most piece has a tiny single point of contact, a little pin that it sort of attaches to (blue arrow), that’s it’s only apparent glue point. First time modeling that I’ve gotten stumped like this in how to make things fit. And everything else in the model fits together great, so I’m even more confused/annoyed at why these two pieces make no apparent sense in how they fit. And if fact honestly don’t seem to fit well at all, I can’t figure out how they would even work in real life

I’ve had models where pieces don’t fit, seams, that kind of thing, but you understood what the guys who put it together were trying to do. But here??? I literally can’t imagine when they modeled it in CAD what happened here?
Well I have a 1 bedroom apt and basically turned my bedroom into my work office for WFH/mancave…

I don’t like the all the dings in the paint from trying to mask it and then remove the mask Trying to ignore it but it really annoys me it got so chipped up.
I used this:
Pebeo Easy Peel Liquid Latex Masking Fluid
And would not recommend it for model masking, it just doens’t come off very easily, it’s very difficult to work with.
Body
So that’s a black prime, Tamiya X10 base about 1:1 with Mr Color 400 thinner, followed by light purple Tamiya X16 about 1:2 (paint to thinner), and then 3-4 coats of Tamiya Clear X22. Haven’t tried polishing yet.

With regards to your attachment problems, what I think I see is this.
It’s not clear but i think pieces 38 and 44 have to be attached together first then part 38 attaches to the vertical bar by the fans. I’ve marked those in green. Once that’s solid part 209 should have good mounting on two surfaces (marked green and blue on the second picture.
If you’ve already tried this and it doesn’t work, then I’m not sure by just looking at the instructions. Hope this helps a bit.
By the way, I really like the colour you’ve chosen.
Yeah I tried something like that before but it just wouldn’t seem to fit right, if you got those little vertical hinges in place, then the bit on the top would be seated right. But… just trying again, if I put on the top piece first (part 28), and then put in the grill like bits, there’s a just right angle that lets it all seat in place and rest properly on the hinges. But OMG it’s really hard to hit that sweet spot, very difficult to see at least for me!

Thanks! Also I liked the model so much, and want another shot at it, I bought another one, might trick it out a bit more and be more careful painting the interior.
So I have met my first model that I feel like I’ve completely failed at. I’ve had some other stuff I’ve been working on, so progress has slowed. But I’ve gotten all the main components build. And I have to say this thing is just a total and complete PITA. I have never come across a model that fit so poorly once you started putting all the main components together. And if you follow the instructions and build sequence it’s not entirely clear where these little inconsistencies are going to pile on and prevent things from not quite fitting till its too late. I came very close to throwing it all out yesterday as I realized how bad the tolerances were, how wide some of the gaps were. Then saw several videos online where people had the same issues if they had the various pieces like the back and front panels closed. Turns out most people model with them open, now I know why!
Anyways very very frustrated and disappointed. I may just shelve the whole thing for now. Try something else.

That’s such a cool subject, it would be a terrible shame to bin it now. I know you’ve had your issues, some seem very serious.
Have you thought about maybe making it a curbside model instead? Get rid of anything inside that won’t be seen and close it up. You could possibly make crude supports inside to hold pieces where there need to be, thus making stronger joints.
In fact you could even glue the body parts right to the chassis to make stronger attachment and force the panels into alignment with more consistent gaps.
I’ve followed this since you started and I am still hoping to see it come together. 
So made some progress, I looked everything over again to see if I could find places where maybe I ade a mistake, and did find a spot where one of hte rear wheel “cover” (not sure what you call it) attaches to the rear body exterior. That didn’t get seated in the little “lip” correctly, was about 1-2mm off and was definitely throwing the fit of the exterior off. Luckly I was able to pull it off and re-clue it in the correct spot, and got a better fit, though still not what it should be.
Definitely going to be closing this up for this version and I will get back to this, just going to set it aside for a bit
