Paasche VSR90

I am about to purchase a Paasche VSR90 airbrush. The technical details for this airbrush match my requirements but I would like to know a few more details about its usability. For instance: how easy is it to clean (piece of cake/reasonably easy/etc.), what about the output flow (no problems at all/ocasional spatters/etc), any other issues I should be aware of?

Any feedback would be welcome.

thank you very much

I have a VSR90 and only use it for detail work because of the size of the color cup. As far as cleaning goes, I also have a VL, and the two of them I clean the same. Put thinner into color cup, spray through gun, unscrew handle, loosen collet nut that holds needle, remove tip, push needle forward so as to not drag paint back into gun, rinse needle and tip and blow thinner through gun. This is for total cleaning. Naturally if you are going from one color to another I just blow thinner through the gun until it runs clean and then start with my next color. I hope this helps.

thanks for the info gbritnell

I got the airbrush, all I need now is a good compressor.

thanks again

Hey, abranea

If you’re looking for a good compressor, I posted a message earlier about an Iwata Powerjet compressor. It is a 1/6 HP compressor with a storage tank, moisture filter and pressure regulator for the bargain price of $289. The storage tank will ensure you don’t get any sudden variances in air pressure, and then possibly ruining your precious paint job. Check it out! It’s the one I’m going to buy. You ought to look into the Iwata airbrushes, too. I have yet to find anything negative said on any of the forums here. I bought an Iwata HP-CS and I can’t wait to get my Iwata compressor and use it.!

Sorry, forgot to tell you where you could get the compressor. You can order it from www. bearair.com. The exact same compressor sells for $399 from dixieart.com, which usually has pretty good prices and free shipping, but this time, bearair beats them hands down! Good luck!

I have some negatives about Iwata. The prices for tips and needles is high and their customer service is not very good from some stories I have heard. Plus they are not American made. [:p]
I’ll put my Thayer & Chandler Omni up against the Eclipse any day and at a much lower price. [:D]
