Paasche VL airbrush..line adjustment assembly???

I’m very new at airbrushing and I bought a Paasche VL. I see no info in the booklett that came with my brush about the "line adjustment assembly. It is the little knob in front of the trigger(for lack of a better word). What is it used for and can it help make a paint job look any better or make the paint flow better?

I personally wouldn’t use that device. It is designed to set the trigger back and keep it at that position, essentially it is turning the double-action airbrush into a single-action almost.

Mike is correct. However I use it all the time. It is essentially a fine adjustment that pulls the trigger back in minute amounts and sets a ‘stop’ for how far closed it will go. A nice feature for when you want to set the spray pattern at something very consistent (either very light, or very heavy). You can always pull back for more flow, but the min. spray flow is always pre-set.

relative to your Paasche VL, i cant get the paint up the tube in the jar into the brush. I talked to Paasche today, and did the things he told me to do, but it still wont spray paint…lots of air, but no paint. It has been working great until today. And i clean it religiously.

This may sound like a dumb question but did you tighten the needle chuck at the back of the needle?
Will water spray through it?

yep,. i tightened the needle chuck, and no…water doesnt spray thru it either. Bryan at Paasche said maybe the needle chuck was TOO tight, so i loosened it just a tad…didnt help

So something is causing it to not pick up the medium through the siphoning tube. If you put a few drops of water in the siphon tube with the airbrush upside down will it spray that way with no cup on it?

i havent tried that Mike…but i will try that tomorrow.

i took everything apart AGAIN…and the nozzle assembly evidently was clogged, so i got it working again…thanks forthe help, Mike

Glad I could help, even though I didn’t do much. [:D]

When I finish painting I always use an eye dropper with lacquer thinner in it and place it against the back-end opening of the tip and squirt the lacquer thinner through it to make sure it is clean.
I have never had a problem yet with the tip plugging. [;)]

well, since i dont use enamels, but acrylics, i could do the same thing with alcohol (not the Jack Daniels type, however…i use that in a eyedropper for something else…hehehe
