Paasche H

Hey Guys;
LHS has a Paasche H for $55; is that a good deal? Also has a bunch fo different Testors-Aztecs.
Steve

Price sounds OK but in reading other posts in the Forum you should avoid Aztec like the plague.

Richard

Before you decide, check around and do a little homework. The “H” is a single action, external mix airbrush. I personally think that double action, internal mix are a bit better suited to this hobby. It’s all in what you get used to and how you use it though. Paasche makes great airbrushes, no question of that.

You might also check the online stores for pricing. Dixie Art has the Paasche “H” complete set (airbrush, 6’ hose, #1 (fine) spray assembly, #3 (med.) spray assembly, #5 (heavy) spray assembly, 1/4 oz. color cup, plain 1 oz. bottle and cap, one 1 oz bottle and adaptor complete, one 3 oz bottle and adaptor complete, airbrush hanger, wrench, and instruction booklet.) for $46.95 and a Paasche H “Carded Set” (airbrush, 6’ hose, #3 (med.) spray assembly, 1 oz. bottle and assembly, wrench, and canned air adaptor.) for $30.95.

Musiccity, RSaddlemire;
Thanks for the replies. Typical story for my area is everything is over priced. Only have four hobby shops around me. Two are Hobby Lobbies, the other two are true hobby shops; and all are at least 30 miles away. Might check out the DixieArt site. Could you tell me what the web address is?
Thanks again’
Steve

Sorry, Steve, I thought I did. They are at www.dixieart.com and have a vast selection of everything you could want. I haven’t ordered from them, but a lot of people around here have.

This area is similar. There are 2 decent stores and 2 Hobby Lobby stores, but that’s about it.

I have the best aztek…

naw, j/k

1337, thats an hp-c all day long!!![:D]

you missed the point

G’day Folk’s,

Sorry 1337 but if that photo is your Aztec, it’s a copy of the Olympis, I have the same thing with the name Lenco 301 on it.
Damm good airbrush all the same.

Rob.

you also missed the point [:)]

the point was that I had the BEST aztek, simply because its an iwata. i should have made it even more obvious

??? Guess I missed the point too. Anyways, I have had a Pasche H model for over 16 years and have had no problems with it. I have changed the tips a few tomes, but no problems. It always works for what I need it to do. I can get down to a 1/16 inch line with proper thinning and pressure. I highly recommend it.

That’s what I meant when I said it’s all in what you get used to and how you use it. I think painting is about 99% the abilities of the painter and 1% the abilities of the tool. You have to have good tools, but buying the finest airbrush on the market is not going to make you an instant expert. I have a single action and double action brush, and just feel that the double action brush gives me a lot better control over the spray.

st_gorder - not sure if you have a Michaels in your area or not, but watch for their weekly flier. They usually have a 40% off coupon with them and you can sometimes get a very good A/B for a decent price.

As far as the Paasche H goes, I too have used one for many years and have found no need for anything more. All depends on your needs !!!

uh…i still dont get it!!?[%-)]

the point is that the best aztek is no aztek… instead, its an iwata

ahhhhhhhhhhhh…brilliant!![tup]

Thanks.

I belive you can get an H for less than that at www.dixie.com . If I’m not mistaken, the airbrush goes for around $39.00 to $49.00 for a set including hose, bottles, color cups, extra needle/ nozzles. Check um’ out, they offer free shipping too!

Thanks for the discussion everyone. I’ll have to check out Dixie.
