I’m interested in purchasing an economical air compressor to replace my old Testors blue mini compressor. The compressor I’m interested in is the Paasche D500 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDD72&P=7. I don’t need anything super fancy since I only build five models or less a year, just a simple reliable compressor that will work with my Aztec airbrush. Is this compressor a good buy? Thank you in advance.
There’s nothing wrong with the D500, decent compressor for the money. You might want to check out the D500SR at Dixie Art http://www.dixieart.com/Paasche_Compressors.html which comes with a regulator and moisture trap for a few dollers more, but it also includes delivery. Also check out Airbrush City http://www.airbrushcity.com/comp45/ they’ve got quite a line up of compressors, too. If you have a Harbor Freight close by this is one heck of a deal http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92403 I know Hippy-Ed has one similar to this one. $45 is a great price for a hobby compressor!
I have the D500 and I love it. I have a moisture trap in the hose, and a regulator on it. Works great.
I use the 500 exclusively and I love it. My model room is a spare bedroom so I have no need for a moisture trap, I recommend this compressor, it is reliable relatively quiet and comes with a regulator.

regards,
Steve
Thanks everyone for replies and answers. I’ll probably order the compressor next week. Thanks again.
