P51D rear cockpit equipment

Hi guys,

Im currently building the Airfix 1:24 P51 and Ive got to the part where Im building the equipment in the rear of the cockpit behind the pilot. Airfx as always just gives a single colour for items and dont go into any detail. What I want to know is what equipment is there? What colours were they? and does anyone know of any photos on the net I can use for reference please?

Pretty sure its radios. Im sure if you Google P-51 you`ll get all the pics you could need.

Yes, it’s radio equipment - at least one of the boxes. It would be black. It’s been a long time since I worked on a P-51 (F-51), but I think the comm unit was an SCR-522.
