I’m looking for info on detailing flaps on a1/32 P51B mustang ? Any ideas welcome[8]
Hey mod,
You may want to check at your LHS for these sweet reference books.
Squadron does both a walk around and a in action book on the Stang.
There are a few other books that Squadron does that pertain to the Mustang and her units.
If I’m not mistaken Detail & Scale has a book out and theres a book called P-51 Planes and Pilots #5 that consists mostly of colour line drawings but it does have some good reference pix. There are a few more books out there but at the moment I cant seem to remember there names off hand[:(][:p]
Heres a few sites that might help ya out a bit.

Hey mod,
I found a few more pix that might help you out. One thing though these photos are of a restored Stang. At any rate they can still help you out.
Click on the site below for a bigger pic.

I have a number of black and white fotos of P-51’s being built at the Los Angeles factory the were sent to me by North American when my friend Eddie Chavez and I were building a large scale static display model for the NUT TREE museum near San Francisco. I can look thru them, scan them and possibly e-mail them to you.
T thanks for the help guys. I’ll check these sites out
Detail & Scale Vol. 51 Part 2 on pages 22 and 23 have some good flap detail if you can get your hands on one. My scanner isn’t working or I’d help you out.
For my money, you can’t beat Aero Detail #13. The detail photos covered everything I ever needed to build a P-51.
The ISBN number is 4-499-22644-9.
