I just started this model and the instructions call for Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal Silver for the color. Does anyone know of a comparable color in acrylic?

Tamiya X-11 chrome silver or X-32 Titanium silver might be a close match. You will get more options with lacquers, though.
I used the X-11 Chrome Silver on mine, and it turned out pretty good.
