I know I have another topic withe almost the same contents, but this is a different/more detailed explanation
I want a P40 to build from a different manufacturer than Revell, its all my local hobby shops carry. But found this (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXST03) online and wanted to depict a scene where it is on the ground, but was not sure how to do it,
1: Landing flaps are up or down at the time of sitting still
2: How hard would it be to install an AM engine, as in to crack it open and reveal the engine as if it were being serviced
3: Any other diorama or AM parts I may need to depict the scene\

i have read your questions both here and in your other thread. I just want to say this, if you want to build it with all the bells and whistles then do it. there are several very good sites with photos of a p-40e on he net that can show you from the frame out, nose to tail, wing tip to wing tip. there is a resin engine out there as well. there are multiple after market goodies both in resin and pe, and I can tell you from experience that anyone can fabricate a ton more.
now with that said, what is your skill level? I ask because depending on skill level much of the work, including the am stuff, can be overwhelming. I have a soft spot for hawks of all variety. I have built multiple versions and have cut up some of them to add more detail. I have used resin and pe for both the interior and the exterior. I have also scratched out most of the details from nose to tail and wingtip to wingtip. there are some very good and detailed kits out there. depending on what you want to do.
