I thought I would share this one after tidying it up today. It’s one I built about two years ago, but I added some weathering to it today, as well as applied another matte coat over it. It’s the Hobby Craft P40 AVG Tigershark, built out of the box with the exception of brake lines from fuse wire and antennae wire made of invisible thread. The kit is exceptional, no filler required, just some polishing along the seams. Hope you like it.

Anthony
That is nice Anthony, I don’t have any prop driven aircraft in my collection but if it was that great of a build I might just have to go get one.I would like a 1/24 scale Mustang or Warhawk to be my first WWII A/C model.Any idea which one is the best?
Not sure which kit would be teh nicer build, especially in the 1:24 scale. I prefer the 1:32 and 1:48th at the moment. Anything bigger and I would feel like I would have to super detail it. Have a browse around the web for some reviews on the two kits, I am usre there will be something about them.
Good Luck and hope to see your kit when you finish it.
Regards,
Anthony
Looks pretty good. Although and I’m not saying this to be a jerk or anything#77 did not have the Disney Tigers on the sides. Other than that she looks cool.
I wouldn’t have a clue if it is right or wrong I followed the kit instructions on this one, so if it is not right it is Hobby Craft’s misintepretation. This is the first time I heard of this though.
Another fantastic job, Anthony, especially on the weathering! [^] What processes did you use for the weathering? The P-40 is my favorite plane, and I have several in the works, including one of those Hobby Craft P-40B/Cs (haven’t worked on it for about two years though). Hopefully I’ll get some “in progress” pics posted in a couple of weeks on one or two of them. Won’t look as good as yours, though![:)]
By the way, it’s still hot as Hades here. Hope the weather’s nicer in your part of the world.
Hi Mark, we are having a variety of weather here, frost, rain, chilly cold days and nice warm ones. We are now in Spring and it will start to get warmer here too. I am glad you like the P40, as for the weathering I did on it, I mainly used pre shading and post shading of the panel lines, as well as adding a bit more Tamiya Flat Base to my Shine Magic clear to give it some extra matte. For the chips I used silver pencil.
That’s a very impressive build, Anthony. I hope my build of the Monogram 1/48 P-40B Tigershark comes out at least half as well as yours. If you don’t mind me asking, what colors did you use for the camouflage? My kit’s instruction manual says it’s dark green/dark brown topcoat with light blue underside, but looking at many pictures of AVG birds like yours tells me the undercolor is a very light gray. I’m not yet knowledgable about color schemes and so I would appreciate feedback from guys like you. Thank you much.
Hey Anthony,
Nice looking P-40 you’ve got there. In all the Hobby Crap I mean Hobby Craft kit is not bad…!!
I especially like they way you weathered her…!!! Great build my friend.
In regards to what Rick mentioned, I too am looking forward to Trumps release. I have their 32nd P-40 so hopefully they will refine the molds/flaws when they release their 48th kit.
Flaps up, Mike
