anyone built any of them or are they turkeys
They STINK! I bought the Ta-154, and threw it away. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I’ve ‘built’ the Mirage III & Nesher/Dagger kits. They’re actually exactly the same kit, just different decals. Awful? Here’s a few things:
- The decals have the amazing ability to be yellow, whilst still new
- The interior is worse than Airfix in the bad old days
- The exterior has pathetic detailing
- The instructions show the correct way of the pitot tube, but the kit is different, and wrong
- The fit is awful
- The flat areas aren’t flat, and show awful depressions and sink marks
The F-16 is apparently the same, if not worse, according to reviews.
The SU-21 Flagon is, aside from numbering issues, actually not too bad. There are some fit, interior, etc issues, but it does build into a reasonable model. Aside from anything else, the only Flagon in 1/72 scale.
The MBB Siat 233 Flamingo is their only 1/48 kit. It’s also the same kit as sold by Revell. Not too bad, except the decals, of course.
PM models also have some interesting stuff, like a Hawker Sea Fury (not too bad, except no interior) and a Spitfire floatplane. The Beechcraft C-45 is supposed to be quite dire. There is also some Luft’46 stuff, including the ME328 also sold by Airfix. As I recall, not too bad, except lack of interior, of course.
I have the PM models Go-229(Horten jet powered flying wing)in 1/72 scale and concur that it is a very basic kit with almost no detail.Plus the decals look like they are 30 yrs old yellowed and un-usable.If at all possible steer clear of PM unless thee is no alternative.
I bought their Ta-183 kit, because no one else offered it in the same scale. I haven’t built it yet, but plan on constructing it for the Luft '46 group build. I hope all goes well!
I hav ebuilt a several of them and as everyone else has already said, they are very basic with hardly any detail. I have build the TA-183, HO-229, and TA-154, all very basic but at the time there were the only thing out there. I have several more on the shelf waiting to be built. If you are looking for some detailed model, these ain’t it but the are cheap and in some cases the only thing there.
I’ve built both the Ta 183 and the DFS 194.
Both are pretty basic, but with a little bit of work, and creative raiding of the spares box a decent model can be acheived.
Let’s face it at that price how can you complain?
Karl
Oh, you know, some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope! [:o)]

There’s an old saying: ‘you pays your money, and you gets what you get’; or another one ‘you don’t get owt for nowt’.
In other words, PM might not be that good (and in some cases, awful), but they are cheap! Other the other hand, better kits are available for around the same price, including Airfix, and for a tad more, Italeri. I would say: if you like the subject matter, and only PM do it, then buy one. If it goes wrong, well, it’s something cheap for airbrush camo practise. Or throwing contests. Seriously, some PM kits are reasonable. Certainly the Flamingo is OK (although I have yet to build mine); and the Flagon with care, filler, and some Neomodels interior bits (and new decals), makes into a good kit. Just, steer clear of the Nesher/Dagger/Mirage III kit, and F-16 kit as well (there are much better 1/72 F-16’s for not much more).
Actually, it’s a real pity about PM, because a bit more work, and better decals, and they would be flying off the shelves!

osher is spot on here - I have built the 1:72 AT-11 (Beech Super 18) kit, and it IS very rudimentary, but went together very well, and being CHEAP ($3.00 on EvilBay [8D] ), lends itself to some scratch building practice/training. Also good for practicing airbrushing or nmf techniques and still have a reasonably decent model (unlike the brands such as Starfix). Just my [2c] !

| I agree!I got it for like 2.98 online!Still I think the general shape is accurate and allowed me to paint the german crosses without using the kit’s poor decals. |

I think I would complain if you hung me at all! (Although not for very long… [;)])
But I agree. I built their Me 328 a whiles back, and it was only because it was the only kit offered with the short wings (which I needed).
Pros: Price.
Cons: Everything else.
If you can get a certain subject somewhere else, do so. If you want a quick, basic build that won’t cost too much, go for PM.
