P-61 dio almost done

The 1/48 scale P-61 is almost done… picked the Pac Theater. Problem is finding a good field grass to sim cane fields. Also looking for some palm trees or how to make them 9" tall dhould be good enough.Any ideas?

You could also find an architectural supply store. The have palm trees, and all sorts of other plants for architects to use for building models. Or look at a store that carries Christmas village accessories, I found some nice ones that went with a nativity set at Wal-Mart for a couple bucks each.

Thanks. I think I have found a weed in the backyard that will work well for the cane field… segmented stuff that never dies… looks about right for cane though. I will look at the sites and see what I can accomplish… You guys are awesome!

Went through and looked at photos of the airfields and maint areas in the Pacific. I noticed that it was mostly clear cut. So I (as always now) am revamping the dio. Tall grass and shrubs should be ok. Goes along with the photos I have seen. Also, the groundwork is done and will be posting pics of the progress work so far.

Here’s an idea that’s simple, but provides realistic clumps of grass/weeds around fence post / rocks, etc… airbrushed Hair.

Dio done… minor tweaking needed… I will be posting pics with in the next 2 weeks. have to paint 3 more figures and that it all. Cheers
