Thanks guys, the compliments really mean a lot to me [:D]. There was hardly a day when I didn’t want to smash it with a hammer.
Tonight I’m going to use an older camera that I have that sometimes seems to take better pictures than my super-duper camera. Right now I use a Konica-Minolta Dimage A200. It’s a really decent all-around camera, but there are so many settings it can take forever to figure it out. I’ll try my older Kodak point and shoot, which is almost idiot proof…almost [;)]
Frank, I think everyone new to modelling should have to build this POS as a rite of passage [(-D].
Chuck, after following your helldiver thread this whole time, I’d be embarrased to show you any of the stuff I’ve done. But, I’m going to try a different camera tonight to see if I get different results and show off the interior.
Eric, I knew you’d like the nose art, especially considering how much flak you catch in the Dio section for likin’ the girls. Don’t worry, I like’em too [;)] [(-D]
RadMax, overall, the LSM pit is great. A lot of detail and the casting is pretty sharp. But, it’s not without it’s problems. There is some warpage in the resin, so it doesn’t sit flush against the sidewalls of the kit. It seems to be built up on the original kit walls, so ther is some incorrect detail, but it’s still several times better than the stock stuff. And it seems to be a bit long. If you line up the step-down in the canopy framing in the radar section, the walls extend into the glass section, so those need to be trimmed. As for the Radar bulkhead, there’s no overspray because I purposefully painted them seperately. But, it’s probably the black plastic that I didn’t fully paint over, which I can just touch up tonight.
P_D, funny thing is, the camera does have a macro feature and I do use it, but it always seems to come out too sharp, if that makes any sense.
thanks again, guys. Stay tuned for (hopefully) better pictures tonight.
