Hi,
I am looking for a decal set for a 1/48 scale P-51B “The Hun Hunter”. I have looked around on the web but have not been able to find anything. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tom
Hey Tom,
Have you checked with your local hobby shop yet?? I know that there was a few AM companies that produced these decals.
If anything you may have to check at the local model shows in your area or maybe somebody here may have a extra one to spare. I’ll see what I have.
Flaps up, Mike
Tom,
Assuming you mean “The Hun Hunter from Texas” (cause I don’t know, but I suspect there might be more than on plane named Hun Hunter), Tally Ho models makes sheets in 1/72 and 1/48. They’re in stock at squadron. BUT, they’re on a sheet titled P-51B/C/D, and I really don’t know if the decals are representative of Lt. Brown’s P-51B or his P-51D.
Hope this helps.
Al
“The Hunhunter (from) Texas” is on the Tally-Ho sheet 48-016. “Lucky” Lester’s “Miss-Pelt” is on the same sheet.[2c]
“Aces of the Mighty Eigth” shows a P-51B-10NA 42-106448; same as on Tally-Ho sheet. Had to look it up and do my part giving back for all the help I’ve gotten from the Forum.[:D]
So where is it I’ve seen “Hun Hunter II”? Is that a later plane, or am I confusing it with a civilian warbird? Wasn’t this one of the 4th Fighter Group birds?
“Hun Hunter (from) Texas II” was a D as indicated by the ‘II’ it was his second a/c. Only the B decal is on the aforementioned sheet.[2c]
