Such a great job of recreating the flavor of a P-51 Tuskegee Red Tail.
Thanks Duster!
I used NATO Black instead of the “proper” black for the window surrounds. Then I sprayed the clear sections Clear Blue and then a few more coats of Smoke.
Hmm:
Totally catching the “Vibe”
The mirrors were painted Fluorescent Red and Clear Green over silver as a nod the wingtip lights on the plane. The wing tips were sometimes red, so I painted the cove details to reflect that.
That was fun! Now it’s done!
WOW! That’s so creative and cool! Your attention to details like a red mirror on the left and a green one on the right is incredible! The color schemes and nose art from the old warbirds look great on sporty automobiles. Aurora back in the 1960s - 1970s had a series of sports car kits with fighter motif. Once again excellent idea and completion.

Nicely done, indeed! [Y][B][Y][B]
So cool and so well executed![Y]
I’m especially impressed with how well your custom made decals conform to that very complex nose shape.
Thanks for sharing such a really unique and clever build!
That’s pretty cool
Very cool. Excellent work. We have a small airfield here with a P-51 and he has a newer mustang car done up like this. It’s a great idea.

Thank you for all the kind words guys!
Such a terrific build! This is a build I’d like to try. I’ll be at PAMSCON this Saturday looking for the appropriate Mustang kit. Your build is quite an inspiration.
Outstanding!!! [t$t] [t$t] [t$t]

Stay Safe.
Thanks guys! It was a really fun project.
A little late to the party here but really like what you’ve done with this car and you couldn’t have chosen a better kit to do it with. I’ve heard LOTS good about these kits.
