P-51 gurus, reference picture request

hey gang,

I’m wondering if any of the mustang guys have close-up pictures of the landing light found in the wheel well.

I’ve found some ok pictures, but nothing that shows any real detail. I’m hoping that maybe somebody here has some multi-angle detail shots of this light.

The part that comes in the Tamiya kit is really kind of bland, so I was hoping that with some good refernce material, I could come up with something better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya Fred

Here is a real simple way I made the little wood roller the retracts the light.

A small scrap of plastic with a #80 hole drill on a thin wire, Melt it but dont let it burn. If it caths fire blow it out real fast before it drips off and it should be ok. The wire get real hot real fast so use pliers. Cut and bend the wire for the bracket.
