as D-Day is allready in sight, reinforcements for the 8th are needed:
another Stang finished, this time I built “Daddy´s Girl” 359th Fightergroup, 370th Fightersquadron, flown by Capt. Ray Wetmore, late 1944.
The kit is from Tamiya, Decals are Aeromaster, Paint is Alclad II and Gunze Acrylics, brushed with my new Iwata HP-SB (really like this one) A few parts of the Eduard Zoom Etching Parts Set is used in the cockpit area, along with some thin wire for the radio, the breaklines and seatbeld buckles [:p]
I really enjoyed building that bird! Next one´s allready in my hangar…[;)]
Dang Jerry you makin me jealous[:p][:p]
I guess I have to get in gear now dont I…!!! I always loved that ship. Again very nicely done[:)]
Flaps up,Mike
Nicely done Jerry, I have always thought that Wetmore’s P-51 was a great looking bird…plus he was one of very few pilots to shoot down a Me-163 rocket fighter in WWII. I built this aircraft in 1/72 (Tamiya also) about a year ago and love the paint scheme. Mine is still posted on Aircraftresourcecenter.com’s site in the gallery section under P-51’s.
