P-47D feedback needed.....

I’m currently working on the 1/48th Hasegawa Razorback. I want to depict this aircraft in natural metal finish, I have the Aeromaster decal set for a D-22RE war bond jug from the 404th. I’m reading in the Squadron P-47D In Action about all the various changes through D model production. I don’t have the kit in front of me right now ( I’m traveling) but I believe it is a D-15. I know I have to change the prop to a Hamilton Standard, but I’m confused about the underwing pylons and the tail wheel strut (length). Were the pylons removeable, or permanent? The pylons in the kit are molded with the bombs. The only PE sets available at Eduard are for a D-20. Does anyone have experience with the PE sets and do they include pylons? If so are these pylons correct for a D-Day D-22RE?[?]

Pylons were removable. Afraid I can’t help you with the PE aspects.

The pylons were removeable but normally installed. I am a little confused by your comment that the kit pylonsare molded with the bombs. I’ve built several Hasegawa 1/48 Razorbacks and just checked the two unbuilt kits in my stash and the pylons are molded separately on all of them. A PE set for a Razorback should be useable on practically any version but a Bubbletop would have some differences.

I apologize I am on the road and I was trying to remember and I thought that the wings were “clean” on this kit underneath. Thanks guys…

The wings are molded clean. The pylons are molded seperately, as are the hardware for the wings if the pylons are not installed and the underwing ordinance or drop tanks.
