I was currently building the academy P-47D Eileen, unfortunately I totally ruined the checkerboard nose decal, [:(!] I then tried to paint the chequerboard but this is less than successful [:(!]
As the kit only cost me $10 AUD I don’t really want to spend $15 plus dollars for a aftermarket set of decals just to do the nose. In fact I’d rather go and by another P-47 [:)]
So I’m on the scrounge. If anyone has a set of checkerboard decals (from this kit or the tamyia one) that they would be willing to trade/give away or sell real cheap then please get in touch.
Does that kit have more than one colour scheme? And do both of them use the checkerboard decals? I’m asking because I’m interested in buying that kit and if it has another decal option I’ll do that instead and send you the checkerboard decals. Just let me know.
I’m in Australia too mate. Makes things alot easier. I was just looking at the kit today, but didn’t buy it cause I didn’t know whether it had other decal options. Now I know it does, I’ll go buy it maybe tomorrow or next week. Send me your postage details by email and I’ll post the checkerboard decals too you.
The kit was $17 in my Local hobby shop. If you can get it for $10, maybe you can buy the kit, take the decals you need and I’ll buy the rest off you. I might get it a bit cheaper.

BTW. I’m just assuming that this is the 1/72 scale kit (from the price mainly). Am I correct in assuming this? Because I actually have the checkerboard decals for the 1/48 kit from a build I did a few months ago. I didn’t touch the kit decals, so if you’ve got the 1/48 kit I’ll send them to you.
That’s good mate. I’ve got the whole decal sheet sitting here, there’s only one small decal cut out. All the checkerboard decals are there though. I’ll never use it so I’ll send it off next week after christmas.

Your P-47 turned out great mate. No worries on the decals thing, I’m glad I could help out. And they look like they turned ou well. Great work.
I’ll be asking you for help when I finally get around to doing my RNZAF A-4 (it has been planned for many years now, it’ll happen one day though). A-4 alley will come in handy.
