Okay troops, I’m trying to find a 1/48 Hasegawa P-47D-30/40 kit which included a dorsal fin (not the P-47M and not a razorback). Who has one for sale?
Not only you but so do I. I’m looking for dorsal fin because I have P-47D (Maybe -25 I don’t know the different) Who can suggest me for that dorsal. How should I do?
Thanks all guys
The dorsal fin can be scratch built fairly easily from sheet plastic. Cut it to approximate shape and file/sand it down to final shape and fit.

David,
I can’t seem to find the Bubbletop (P-47D 30/40 - their kit number JT41) either in Hannant’s, Squadron, or Hobby Link Japan - doesn’t seem to be on their current listing.
I’ve got one, but I’ve got big plans for it - sorry mate.
You might try someone like Hobby Lobby - or maybe your LHS sill be willing to track one down for you.
Personally, I’d go for the Tamiya P-47D Bubbletop - they’ve created far more accurate shapes for the engine cowl, fuselage belly - as well as sharper detail for waste gate exhausts and the like - I’ve compared them against each other and against photos and drawings and while both build up very well, the Tamiya offering has more accurate overall shapes.
Good luck.
Hello There,
Yes, I can scratch build from sheet plastic. But how long and how high for 1/48 scale form that dorsal fin? Please help if you can.
Thanks so much guys.
