P-47-True Details Cockpit-Install Quest.

Looking for anyone who has put in the True Details P-47 cockpit for Hasegawa. Specifically, the two wall interiors have a lot of resin flash that requires cutting and sanding to form the slat that will fit into the floor. I’m curious if people did the extra work or just sanded off the slat and glued. Most important, will just sanding it off cause any fit problems.

Thanks

I actually used a Dremel with a 5mm burr - it removes the resin pretty damn fast, so you have to be a little careful.
I find using the dremel removes the need for the “brute force squeeze” needed to hold the parts adequately to sand them down with sandpaper. You just have to be very careful not to burr a hole in the part you’re cleaning up.

Thanks LeeTree! I used the Dremel and it was great. I am just getting back into modeling after 10+ years and have never worked with Resin parts before. Easy to work with. You are right, the Dremel can easily take off more than you want. I just wish the dust wasn’t so toxic. Anyway, it fit great!
Thanks!
