Has anyone heard if Trumpeter will release 1/32 scale P-47 Thunderbolts with clear fuselages? Is seems strange to me that Trumpeter would produce 1/32 scale Thunderbolt kits with interior detail without plans to make clear fuselage versions to show the detail.
No plans that I am aware of, but… I certainly agree with you. I built the razorback model and you’re absolutely right. Loads of great detail (and work) that are hidden forever when you close it up. Shameful.
Trumpeter can be weird like that. They released the 1/32 P-38 several years ago that has two super detailed Allisons, but it doesn’t even have separate cowlings. They never released a “clear edition”. They did release a 1/32 Me-262 and SBD Clear Edition though. The 1/24 Me-109 kits just come with clear and opaque fuselage halves.
All that internal detail appeals to the engineer in me. I learn about how the real thing worked, but sealing it all up where nobody can see it is kind of a waste.
