P-40N finally finished...

Hasegawa 1/72 kit…Really blew it on the wing join…I should have attached the upper wings first but i didnt and it was too late…no sweat…i had fun with it…i like how the exaust stains came out…knocked the front windscreen off about 3 or 4 times…could never get it right again…see what you think…

wow…too many photos…

Looks good Dave! [Y]

The N is my favorite P-40 and I think you did a great job in 1/72. I have a P-40N in 1/48 that I put back in the box because I can’t get it to look good like yours. And I love the skull… very cool!

Well done! [t$t]

Overall a pretty good build… The wing roots look acceptable but, as you noted, the windscreen join doesn’t. Might want to paint the wing gun barrels steel or gunmetal rather than OD.

Regards, Rick

might have to throw down some more pastels on the guns but no more paint is going on…i am done with it…it all goes down as lessons for the next…

jmabx…thanks man…get that sucker out of the box and have a go at it…i had a lot of problems but kept at it…my next p-40 will be the mauve kit in 1/48 and i cant wait…

Wow, that’s braile scale? Nice work man, regardless of what little problems you had, rspecially that 'pit…

I’ll stick with 1/48th though…

my photos suck…need better light…

HVH…you only like it because the pilots name is hammer…

Your P-40 looks good, despite the problems that you had during construction.

thanks yard bird…this will be the end of my 1/72 stuff for a while…

Heh… May-be, but it just doesn’t conjure up the “fighter pilot image” that Von Hammer does, lol… Hammer is a good fighter-pilot name (or detective), but “Von Hammer” instantly produces a mental image of Ein Ritter des Schwarzen Kreuzes..

Very cool…some of those CBI P-40’s had some colorful markings!!!

Looks great!!!

I’m knockin one of these out right now(Academy).

Bummer about the wing join and windscreen, otherwise a very good looking P-40. Certainly the finest markings ever seen on them too.

Magnificent build. Expertly done
