Does any one know where i might find one of these in kit form??? Plastic or otherwise??

Hasegawa has/had one in 1/72, I think there was also a 1/48 version out (Monogramm?? Revell??)

Did about 3 of the hasegawa ones when I was still into plane models.

Hey littlemoe,
You may want to check w/ Academy. I believe they did a Bronco in 1/72d scale. Also Testor did one in 48th. Not bad over all but the detail was lacking though.
DUH[:p] Academy OV-10A kit # 1165. I also think they did or are coming out with the OV-10D

Yup haseagwa did one as well. Thanks MMF. Na only Testors did a Bronco in 48th that I know of.
If it was Revell or Monogram that put out one, I would have grabed a few for sure.

the academy had a 0v-10d bronco in 1/72 scale. thay had a ov-10a bronco also available from academy.[:)]

Testors had one in 1/48. It was basic. Needs a lot of work to make it passable. There are resin and PE sets for it though.
Hasegawa has one in 1/72. Needs a little added work, also. They also released a version like the one in the top picture, an OV-10D, with a new nose piece cast in white metal.
There is another in 1/72, Academy I think, but I believe it is the Hasegawa kit reboxed.
Those are the only ones that I know of.

Stay away from the Testors kit in 1/48. I got one many years ago. My son worked on them at George AFB and I was going to build one for him. The kit is so bad I finally gave it away to my Granddaughter. That is a great way to recycle kit I no longer want. Go with the 1/72 scales if you can get them.

Ron, I’ve got the Academy OV-10D “Desert Storm” I’m planning on building it for the USMC group build, when I start it I’ll let you know how it looks. In the box it looks great, crisp evgraved lines even, although it’s in a lot of pieces.

Hey Mike, were you referring to a Revell 1/48th, or 1/72nd?

Funny that this topic came up when it did, as I just bought an old 1/72nd Revell on eBay last night for five bucks. Is it a good kit?

LittleMoe - Before I searched eBay, I checked with www.greatmodels.com . They have a few listed as “in stock”, and they are taking pre-orders on a new Hasa release, but I forget which type of -10 it is.

The Revell 1/72 kit is a classic but until the Academy kit was released it could be considered the best. It still needs a lot of detail work though. The Hasegawa kit has some good points, mostly bad, and again the Academy is better. The Testors 1/48 is a rerelease of the old Hawk kit and was also released by Italeri, and as mentioned also needs work. Because it is the only 1/48 kit ity can be made into quite an eye catcher with the added work mentioned by others.

Sorry I did not explain fully DUH[:(]. What I was trying to say is if Monogram/Revell did a 48th OV-10, I would definetly pick a few up instead of the Testors kit[xx(].
Maybe Hasegawa or Tamiya will do one in the near future. Only time will tell…!! If the modeling Gods are listening, so what do ya say??

Had one of those when I was a kid. Tail heavy!!!

Littlemoe These kits are very tailheavy. There is not much room to pout weight in the nose. Also I don’t think the landing gear would take the weight anyway. You are better off making a stand for the tail. JOHN

Dug out my Hawk kit last night. The cockpit resin kit is a Missing Links set. Didn’t look to see if they are still in business, or who might have one left. When I get around to building it, looks like you can put shot in the wings and nacelles to make it sit on the nose gear.
