Hi there,
I just came across a stunning B-2 model! It was built by umm-usa. Congratulations!
Cheers

That’s John Vojtech’s, he won the Nats last year in KC with it. It has appeared in several magazines include FSM and Aerospace Modeler which has something like a 17 page spread about John and his model…image heavy! Email me if you want to get one.

John Vojtech’s B-2 was the subject of a cover story/feature in the January 2007 issue of FSM.
A fantastic model that certainly deserves the awards and recognition that it has won.

Indeed.
Sturmvogel, for perspective only, he spent several thousand hours on his C-130, I don’t know about the B-2 but I’d guess a similar period. The average person who works 5 days a week 9 to 5.30 works about 1960 hours a year.
In the FSM featue, John stated that he spent 1200 hours (not including research) working on on this project, which contains about 2000 parts…
BTW: For those who don’t know, “Sturmvogel” is the Swapey dude, probably fishing for some site traffic.
I talked to John Vojtech last night at our club meeting. He is going to send me some stuff to post for him to answer some of the questions he is getting.
The C-130 was actually built twice…during a photography session it accidently was left under the lights unattended too long while John was distracted by a call or something. When he returned he immediately realized his error…it had melted. He had to do major surgery fast to save as much of the interior components as possible and any exterior parts worth saving. It nearly doubled the build time.
John is also getting ready to release a new scribing tool which looks to be very promising. Watch FSM for a review which should be along soon I would think. I’ll stock them as soon as they are available as well.
