Out of the box 1:24 Bf 109G-2

Hi guys!
Great and lively forum you have here, FSM!

Just wanted som creative feedback on my first aircraft build for over 20 years (family, kids and so on sort of got between me and this wonderful hobby…)
Come to think of it, this is actually my 2nd aircraft buld ever, being mainly a panzer guy all those years ago!

The kit is from trumpeter in 1:24 scale. It’s built out of the box, apart from the Eduard belts and buckles.

Any comments more than welcome,
/Hans, Sweden

Looks very convincing Hans and a big welcome to the forums.
Something to do on those cold winter nights eh?

Great looking stuff Hans. We’ll look forward to deeing pics of your completed model, Bill.

it looks excellent! what are the seatbelts ? do keep us posted.

If that is OOB, than I certainly want one of those boxes, that’s great.
I have never done a Trumpeter-kit, how is the fit ???

Welcome to the Forum [#welcome]. Excellent work on the cockpit. Very realistic. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Hi Dan!
The fit is really excellent, especially in crucial areas like body and wing halves.
The kit is riddled with lots and lots of punch-marks, though, so be prepared to do some serious sinkhole filling!

Hi Reggie!
The seatbelts are really great. They’re made by Eduard in prepainted photoetch (serials, stiching ans so on printed onto the photoetch, really awesome!).
The belts consist of around 40 individual parts, with buckles aso threaded correctly, two different attachment points to cockpit tub to choose from, and two different types of locking clasps.

Big and beautiful! Very impressive!

Great work so far. I’d never think that you’ve been away for that long. Looks like the work of an old pro.[swg]

And, by the way…[#welcome]
