Bish, I’m looking forward to building the S-Boat eventually. My plan is to add AM and some figures from CMK when I can finally track them down.
Dodgy, those Emhar kits are pretty rough I built the Whippet and Mk. IV Female a number of years ago and they left a lot to be desired. Regardless the Emhar kits have a certain charm to me and I’m trying to collect the 1/35 tanks Emhar came out with. I already have the Mk. IV Male in the stash and now need to find the Tadpole and another Mk. IV Female.
When it rains, it pours. Max Factory’s “Sirbine” dropped unexpectedly on my door the other day.
This injected plastic kit is a scaled-down version of their gorgeous 1/35 vinyl kit from the 1990s. Unlike the current crop of Japanese mecha kits, this one is fixed pose like it’s larger progenitor.
The Sirbine exists in a fantasy-esque world where Lord of the Rings meets Gundam. Hence the organic design with the filigree trim. Others might suggest Game of Thrones, but I never watched the show. And there really wasn’t much in the way of male nudity in either the TV anime or the OVAs. [:P]
Gosh, I built those Emhar kits 30+ years ago, some on commission build, back when I did such things. They were okay, their tracks were basic, but they got the job done. There were very, very few WW 1 tank models around back then. Heck, I’ve built the Tauro MK 7 C three times. I still have two of them on display.
OH! You had to go there. [:|] Yeah, I saw one of those in Kyoto a long time ago. The cities in Japan have since cleaned up the streets of the weird vending macines. Now it’s just sake, cigarettes, manga, office supplies (like a clean pressed dress shirt), and the usual drinks and snacks.
Gary: Very cool! Hope you’re not going to paint her pink… [:P]
John: Looks like a great kit, that’s one plane I’ve never built…
Greysnake: I built a Emhar Mark IV Male years and years ago. Other than the plastic being really thick and the details a bit heavy it was a pretty nice kit and it did look just like the Mark IV.
Real G: Love that knight mech! Beautiful! And frankly I don’t like vending machines all that much, they always take my money. I don’t think I could complain to someone about some machine that dispenses some weird stuff taking my cash though.
I’m glad to hear some positive comments on these, 'cos I’ve got the Emhar Mk V Hermaphrodite in the stash! It’s part of my background project to build a range of British tanks from their invention to the modern day, and I didn’t fancy parting with £55 - £75 (about $75 - $100ish) for a Tamiya or Takom kit (I also have the Meng Whippet, which is calling me from the back of the cupboard[:)])
Yes a new kit from Revell, I understand that the online shop had just one left, so I was lucky there!
The Bronco kit came today just two days after buying. I opened the box, plans, decals, and three bags, the truck, the trailer and the buggy superb! Oh and Dave sent me a free sprue cutter!
I’ve never built an HK kit, but I’m betting just from a glance at the instructions and the parts in the box that it will make me forget about the ancient Tamiya Lanc that was literally coming apart at the seams the last time I took it down for cleaning.
