Sweet! I went to Nationals with the specific intent to buy that (among others) and couldn’t find it. No one had one! I’ll be looking forward to seeing it built. Meanwhile, I have to catch up on stuff at home after unpacking, but I hope to be back at the bench in a day or so.
Looking good Theuns. I am finally uinpacked from the Nationals and able to get started on some more models. One of them (or more) will be for this Group Build.
Stay tuned.
Okay, here’s my submission to this Group Build:
1/72 scale Modelcollect T-90 tank with a welded turret:

Well, I finally found time to get to the workbench after all this time. Now I managed to get enough progress to show here. It ain’t much but it’s a start.
I started by assembling the road wheels and then gluing them with Gator’s Grip Glue to the (metal) lower hull:

Since I couldn’t get the road wheels to line up properly, I adopted a radical solution: I placed this in a vice and carefully tightened it up until all the road wheels were aligned:

Yeah, crazy idea, but it worked! I doubt I’d try this on a plastic-hulled tank though…
Like I said, not much done, but I hope to get more done on this soon. Stay tuned!
I have just completed the masking on my T-6’s canopy…nw that was not fun! And I have more of them in the stach to do LOL

" you can crossover with the OTS GB i am running too.
Actually since the Thor is in your RR GB and my Artillery GB, I thought it might be nice to put my lonely Sd. Kfz. 7/1, which isn’t in anything and will be accompanying the Thor, in your OTS GB. Looking through the directions, it looks pretty involved. It’s rated a level 4 by Revell.

Shoot, 1/72 is pretty much all I’ve been building… Put me down as tbd. I’ve got a lot to choose from!
Welcome OWL
DUKE interesting technique. i snapped the front differential on the bowser with just my fingers.
THEUNS the masking must be tedious but feels goo when it;s done.got the roster updated, i think. picked up one of those nagging colds, not bad enough to stay home from work but not feeling great either.
I hear you Wayne, I work for myself so even if I feel like doodoo I still need to work in a cold hanger sometimes…the boss just doesn’t want to give me off LOL
I have the decals for this and another T-6 in the mail, but here in SA one is never sure they will acytually deliver. Not like you guys “no rain ,no sleet.no snow” thing. Here they either strike for 4 months or have no fuel for the delivery trucks…just hope I get them soon

Wayne I seem to have picked one of those colds up as well. I feel fine except for sore throat and cough and some lightheadedness. It has slowed me down a bit from working on the bench but I’m hoping to shake this soon.
DUKE hope you feel better.
got some more done. i put the control section together and had to work on outside seam. sanded promed repainted and didn’t feather enough so resanded and reprimed and painted. another lesson learned. there is a decaled instrument panel in the compartment. obviously wheel wells aren’t going to be seen so my rough fillls and sanding were good enough. decided to paint chassis black. wheels are fit tight, no glue.

saw this little bogger i missed. since i might have missile in launch mode, grabbed some styrene from the stash, cut, promed and painted. it is sand, i used white to show what i was doing.

also got the Elevator and Launcher assembled. had to take a deep breathe and easily pry the rear of the glued and painted Elevator to fit the Launcher. also had st scrap down the Elevation piston and ream out the cylinder on the Transporter sop they would fit. this kit has some nicely fitting parts. kneeling dragon gunner shows size.

Wayne I have a ton of 1/72 so count me in on something. I’ll have to wait to see how its going and I’ll pick something out.
Terry
Wayne,
Could you please remove the F-14 from the roster? I will just be doing the Sd Kfz 7/1…soon.
Hey guys, I’d like to join with a Hasegawa NP-3D if that is OK?
Something I started a while back but screwed up the base coat. base coat is desert sand which has a tan hue. i modulated it with desert tan, pin washes with oil burnt umber and overspray with ComArt soft dirt.

and now the SCUD. this is an unusual build for me because i know it will be on a base so some of the underside isn’t even painted. the front cab fender wells had the same mold “holes” but this time i didn’t even bother to fill them. the cab is a bit tricky. You build each side, glue one side to the engine cover, glue that to frame, glue other side and rear panel. Acetate windows were ok. I did scan them in so i could make new ones. bumper is tiht but i had a gap on the sides, my fault and easily filled in with 101 size. styrene. overall the front is a tad rougher than the rest. missile is just sitting there. i think i will paint parts of it a bit darker and other parts a bit lighter.

Both look great Wayne. Is the LAV the Trumpeter kit? I did not know there was a 1/72 SCUD launcher/transporter kit around, who’s is it?
AUSSIE 747 will watch your build. i do JGSDF stuff which is how i got into OTS have the JGSDF {atriot, tank transporter, Type 74, Type 90, 8x8 Recon vehicle. not to mention the 1/35 stuff…
Trumpeter LAV
Toxso SCUD-B i have a more extensive WIP in armor. This thing is in 3 GBs, OTS, Gulf War I, Artillery. makes me want to cash in some stocks and buy the Trumpeter 1/35 but instead will get Trumpeter Patriot, HEMMT tractor, and SA-8. andi have the 1/35 SS-23 in the stash.
Nice! Would love to get my hands on 1/35 Patriot set up as well. Will see what it retails for down this way and then see.
Dragon is coming out with one soon. think it’s a black label kit. Trumpeter will probably cost twice as much as their Patriot is 2 kits: trailer/launcher and radar are one kit, HEMMT tractor is a separate kit. but, given how much better the Trumpeter K-5 RR gun is compared to the Dragon kit, the price is probably worth it.
